How to import a Subtotal row on a transaction into QuickBooks Online

Overview

When creating invoices, sales receipts, or estimates in QuickBooks Online, you can add a Subtotal row into the body of the transactions to illustrate a grouping in the prices of a group of products or services you are selling.  You can also insert a Subtotal row when importing an invoice, sales receipt, or estimate into QuickBooks Online using Zed Axis.

Follow these instructions

For the row that you would like to insert a Subtotal for, the Item Name (Line Item Ref Full Name),  put the name of the item as either Subtotal, SubTotal, or Sub Total. Axis will then recognise this and insert a special subtotal, and the Subtotal Amount will be calculated.

Note:  If the row is a Subtotal, do not specify any value in the Tax fields (ie LineSalesTaxCode).
