How to import classes into QuickBooks desktop

You can import classes into QuickBooks desktop from text or Excel files using Zed Axis. Follow these steps:

Open your QuickBooks company file as Administrator and open Zed Axis
Select your text file or spreadsheet which contains the classes that you want to import.
Set up the a Mapping of the columns in your classes import file to the corresponding fields in QuickBooks
Click Import and your classes will be directly added to your QuickBooks company file.

The following table describes the fields that you can map when import class lists into QuickBooks

QuickBooks field	Type	Description
Name	Text 31 Chars	The name of the class, not including ancestors
Is Active	True or False	Whether the class is active or inactive (true or false)
Parent Full Name	Text	The Full Name of the parent of the class if using sub classes
