Can you please save the file in the XLS (97-2003 Excel Workbook) format and retry the import.

Hello, I am haing the same problem as Ronnie. The file I am attempting to upload is an .xls file, and I did not have any version of excel running on my computer when I attempted to upload. Any tips?

You must save the file within Excel to change it to XLS. We are fast tracking this fix now.

Thanks. For my uploads, I always do "save as" and save the workbook as 97-2003 xls format. The same error continues to pop up when I try to upload the file in that format.

I browsed to several old xls files that I successfully uploaded a couple of months ago, and I get the same error message with all these files.

Sorry can you try Tab delimited and see if that works.

After I re-saved a file in .xlsx, Axis could open it. When it was in .xls, I always got the "The Specified file is in Use" message.

Also, I commented out Location in the registry by re-naming it "Location_rem" because I also got an error message every time Axis is connected to QuickBooks.

Even if the file is in .xls, it can be opened by Axis if it's already opened by MS-Excel. That means we must open a specified file by MS-Excel before opening it on Axis.

All these problems started after I updated Windows 7 on my computer. So, installing important update files onto Windows 7 affected Axis, I guess.

Anyways, I have no problem using Axis for the time being. I am just worried I may encounter problems again after I install future Windows updates. I wish Axis were a bit more trouble free.

Occurs: We are aware of an issue affecting Zed Axis users when opening a file or applying a map. Axis is unable to open the file or the map is not getting applied correctly to the data.

Resolution: Issue has been resolved in an updated version of Zed Axis V12.1 released on 15/10/2017 14:35 AEST, all V12 license holders and Plus subscribers with upgrade protection can download the latest trial version, first uninstall your current version of Axis and then install the latest download and activate using your serial number, your maps and settings will be retained.

If you are using a pre V12 licence you can continue using Zed Axis but you will need implement the fix for this which involves uninstalling the last Windows Security Update (KB4041676, KB4041681, KB4041678, KB4041690, KB4043763) and skipping these updates, Microsoft may address this issue in a future update or hotfix. Alternatively you can upgrade to V12
